ScholarshipVine exists to close the gap between students and the scholarship opportunities they qualify for. Funding information for African and international students sits scattered across government portals, university financial-aid pages, and foundation websites, many of them slow, outdated, or hard to search. We track those official sources directly and turn them into one place students can check with confidence.

Why we started

Too many qualified students miss deadlines because the right scholarship never crossed their path, or they found it after applications closed. At the same time, scam bursary schemes and fake “guaranteed funding” pages target the same students who most need real opportunities. We built ScholarshipVine because a student’s chances shouldn’t depend on which social media post they happened to see first.

What we track

Our listings come from over 100 official sources across six areas: global fully-funded scholarships, African government bursary and loan boards, university international financial-aid pages, foundation and corporate scholarship programs, internship and fellowship listings, and regional or multilateral funding bodies. Every entry links back to the awarding institution, not a third-party reseller.

That range covers national schemes like NSFAS in South Africa, HELB in Kenya, and NELFUND in Nigeria, alongside international programs such as Chevening, DAAD, Fulbright, and the Swiss Government Excellence Scholarships. Students researching one country’s options can also see what’s open elsewhere.

How we work

We pull directly from the awarding body’s own website, application portal, or public database — never from unofficial aggregators. Where a source restricts automated access or asks that AI systems not collect its content, we honor that and add those opportunities by hand instead. Each listing is checked against the original page before it goes live, and outdated or closed opportunities are removed rather than left to mislead visitors.

Who ScholarshipVine is for

Our first audience is students across Africa, Nigeria, Kenya, Ghana, South Africa, Ethiopia, Rwanda, Tanzania, Uganda, Zimbabwe, and Cameroon among them, searching for bursaries, government loans, and study funding closer to home. We also list the global scholarships, exchange programs, and foreign-government awards that African students compete for internationally, so the search doesn’t stop at one border.

Our standard

Every opportunity listed on ScholarshipVine links to a verifiable, official source. We don’t charge students to view listings, and we don’t ask for payment to “unlock” applications — because no legitimate scholarship does either. If a source looks unclear or unconfirmed, we leave it out until we can check it properly.
